Adobe has announced it will start publishing its new digital publishing software in North America.
The new software is called Adobe Digital Publishing and it comes with a number of features that will make it easier for publishers to publish their content and distribute it to users around the world.
“It will allow publishers to build out their content catalog, build it up, and then sell it to consumers through the digital channels that they already know,” said Eddy Cheng, vice president of product management at Adobe.
“We believe this will be a huge opportunity for publishers, because there is so much great content available to them.”
It will also enable them to take advantage of the growing number of mobile devices that are capable of publishing digital content.
“We believe that this is going to give publishers a way to compete on the platform,” said Cheng.
“They can now build their content into a mobile app, and they can monetize that content with their existing website and with their ad sales.
We think it will give them the opportunity to grow faster and to have a bigger footprint than they had before.”
Digital publishing has been an integral part of the publishing business for many years, but its adoption has grown rapidly.
This year alone, the digital publishing industry will generate more than $4.6 billion in revenue, according to research firm IDC.
In 2017, the number of people using mobile devices to publish content jumped from 8.3 million to 16.7 million.
Digital publishers will be able to leverage these new platforms to reach even more people, including younger users who are looking for ways to share content with others.
The Adobe Digital publishing platform will be available for iOS and Android tablets, smartphones and tablets running Android 6.0 or later, and will be supported by Adobe’s own apps.
It is available now for Apple devices, and Microsoft Windows computers and Macs.
It also will be released to the Apple App Store and Google Play.
“This is going a long way toward helping publishers build a bigger and better digital footprint,” said David Giesbrecht, chief technology officer at Creative Commons, an organization that supports digital publishers.
“Publishers will have a much greater toolkit, and publishers will have the ability to better tailor their content to their users, including creating content that is compatible with their audience, and that’s a really great thing.”
The new Adobe Digital Publisher software comes just a few months after Apple announced it would be giving away free licenses to people to use its digital tools to publish and distribute their content.
In addition to the new software, Apple will also be providing a free version of its iBooks for iPad software for developers.
