The Federal Communications Commission voted 4-3 Monday to block the Trump administration’s ban of travel from seven Muslim-majority countries.
The vote was narrowly approved by the FCC’s three Republicans and one Democrat.
“This is a win for the American people and a win in the broader fight against terrorism,” FCC Chairman Ajit Pai said after the vote.
“Today’s vote reaffirms our commitment to ensuring that the free flow of information in the United States is protected.”
The ban also will be enforced in the U.K., France, Italy, and Germany.
